In America we are taught that we are all equal. Do Blacks count ? A black boy was shot and the man who shot him is not in jail. Injustice is injustice! Race doesn’t even matter its just the simple fact that justice wasn’t served. If one must get on the topic of race we have seen it time and time again where Blacks are not treated equally. Emmett Till, Trayvon Matrin, Sean Bell, Mike Brown the list goes on and on. Its sad that I an African American woman is scared to have children in a world where African American men and boys are shot and they don’t even have a WEAPON. If people say racism doesn’t exist I don’t know what world they are living in. As an African American I can tell you, those who do not face discrimination and racism , it exist and the sad thing is many people don’t even see it. Things don’t go away forever and until we as a nation and as a people stand up for each other and say that a life is a life no matter the race nothing will be solved. We must be equal in the way we think and abort those thoughts of stereotypes and progress our minds as people. Behind the melanin of our skins we are all the same, have the same organs, have the same blood and this injustice is sickening to me. I hope that someday in the America I pray to raise my children in that these things will not happen. It is up to us to change the things, which we do not feel belong in our society. Change sexism, racism, discrimination and much more.
